Lending Club is a fast-growing San Francisco Bay Area startup offering peer-to-peer lending for credit-worthy borrowers and savvy investors. Interior Motions began working with the organization in 2013, just after Forbes named Lending Club one of “America’s Most Promising Companies” two years in a row and Fast Company tapped them as one of the “World’s 10 Most Innovative Companies in Finance”. Lending Club needed innovative interior design and furniture solutions to accommodate their thriving business, and our experienced, passionate team welcomed the challenge.
Lending Club faced very tight project deadlines due to explosive growth. Additionally, they were looking to maintain a high level of design quality on a tight budget. Our team worked with Brereton, an architectural firm, to ensure that every design decision was made with the budget and schedule in mind. Lending Club also expressed to us the desire for a more standardized, cohesive design, as the company had previously purchased a mix of uncoordinated furniture. Always excited to provide innovative design solutions, our team rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
Our Solution:
In collaboration with the architects of Brereton, we developed a custom design that would create a fun, modern office space for Lending Club employees. And, due to our valued relationships with vendors, our team was able to negotiate special delivery times while ensuring the budget stayed within reasonable limits. We converted construction solutions to value-engineered, quick-ship, custom furniture solutions.
The Outcome:
Through our favorable relationships with key manufacturers, our team was able to ensure timely furniture deliveries while remaining at or below budget. Our connections coupled with the extraordinary design work from Brereton helped Lending Club’s corporate campus achieve a playful, unique look and feel that accommodates their growth. Our work helped the Lending Club campus support an additional 1000+ employees in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
